Tamaki Intermediate Year 8 - Corn Fritters



This term our topic is based on quick meals and snacks. Last week we made corn fritters. They are very easy and quick to make. The recipe is as follows-:

Ingredients
425g can whole kernel corn
1 large egg
1 cup self raising flower
oil for frying

Method
Open can of corn and fill 1/4 cup measure with some of the liquid then drain the rest of the liquid into a glass
Mix measured corn liquid and egg then add drained corn and flour. stir together but do not mix too much.
If the mixture is too thick add more liquid but do make it too runny.
Heat oil in a frying pan and place small blobs in the hot oil.
When bottom of each is golden-brown turn over carefully using tongs
When both sides are golden lift into crumpled paper towels to drain.
Eat while hot. Dip in tomato sauce or and sauce of your choice.Enjoy!!!!
