Tamaki Intermediate Year 8 - Pinwheel scones
It has been exciting this term in the cooking class. Last week we made pinwheel scones. Making scones is not very hard. The ingredients and steps to make them are as follows:-
1cup flour
2tsp baking powder
1/4tsp salt
1tbsp butter
about 1/2 c milk
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Rub in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add milk and mix quickly to a soft dough.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board into an oblong shape.
Brush the dough with melted butter then spread with cinnamon and brown sugar.
Roll up the dough from the long side making a long log.
Slice the log into small slices and place them on an oven tray.
Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 220degrees for 10 minutes.Enjoy!!!
Try them they tasted really nice. You can tell from the picture of the ones we made. Yum!!
