Year 8 food from other countries
We have been travelling around the world. Today Monday 7 March we visited Mexico and we made delicious crunchy tacos. Making tacos was the best thing we have enjoyed. Below is the procedure of how to make tacos.
Ingredients
100g beef mince
1onion diced
4tbsp tomato paste
1/4tsp chilli powder
1clove crushed garlic
1tsp Worcester sauce
1tbsp olive oil
¼ water
½ can of 480g kidney beans
Method
Fry the mince for 3minutes or until brown in a frying pan
Add the diced onion and garlic
Add the chilli powder, tomato paste and Worcester sauce and cook for a further minutes
Add water and simmer for 10minutes
Microwave the Tacos on high for 1minute just before serving then pile the mince mixture quarters into each taco shell and top with shredded lettuce and grated cheese.
Variations for toppings – sliced tomato bean sprouts grated cheese shredded lettuce grated carrot.
