Room 6 girls - Grilled drumsticks and salad
Wow! Cooking has been exciting this term. Grilling chicken legs was one of the most challenging things we did this term. The recipe was not very difficult to follow.Our drumsticks came out the way we expected and they tasted really nice with fresh salad that we also made.Below is the recipe for the drumsticks. Year 8 Party finger foods- Mini sausages wrapped in bacon
Wow! We really enjoyed making the mini sausages which were wrapped in bacon and secured with toothpicks. Sounds funny hey! It appeared really hard to make but it was so simple and exciting. The sausages tasted yummy and we accompanied them with fresh vegetables. Below is the recipe we followed.
Mini sausages wrapped in bacon
Ingredients
12 mini sausages or saveloys
6 rashers bacon
Tooth picks
Sauce
¾ c tomato sauce
2 tbsp orange juice
!/4 tsp onion salt
¼ tsp pepper
I tsp brown sugar
Method
1. Slice bacon in to thirds
2. Wrap each sausage with a 1/3 slice of bacon and secure with a tooth pick
3. Arrange the wrapped sausages in an oven tray and brush them with sauce
4. Bake in a hot oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until bacon is crispy.
Serve with fresh salad or vegesticks

Year 7 Party finger foods
In Food tech we are learning new cooking skills. On 27 October we made Meat and vegetable kebabs. It was our first time to use the griller and we were very nervous but we made it. Below is the recipe for kebabs and the picture of what we made. The kebabs tasted nice and we really enjoyed eating them.
Meat Fruit and Vegetable Kebabs
Diced beef pieces or frankfurters
Onion pieces
Pineapple pieces
Mushrooms
Capsicum pieces
Sauce
2tbsp melted butter
2tbsp fruit juice
2tbsp tomato sauce
Method
Thread the meat, fruit and vegetables onto skewers.
Brush the food with the sauce.
Cook under griller for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally.
Serve the kebabs on boiled rice.
