For the past 8weeks we have been making food from other countries. This week we decided to remain in New Zealand making Anzac biscuits. Making Anzacs has not been very hard for us since we were following a recipe. Below is the recipe that we used
Ingredients1c flour, 1c rollled oats, half c coconut, 3tsp golden syrup, 140g butter, 3tsp boiling water 1tsp baking soda
Method
Sift the flour into a bowl then add rolled oats, coconut and sugar. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add golden syrup and water. Add baking soda and allow to foam then pour immediately into the dry ingredients. Mix well then take small amounts of the mixture and press out thinly on a greased oven tray allowing space between each for spreading. Bake in a slow oven as they burn easily. Leave them to cool on a wire rack. Enjoy!
Made by St Heliers School Year 8 students - Stuffed Baked Potatoes.
A few weeks ago we made stuffed baked potatoes, which we made using diced salami, potato, tomato, salt and pepper, milk, butter, cheese and onions. There is a variety of ingredients that can be included as filling but we chose just what we thought was going to make our potatoes taste nice. What we really liked about them was that they weren’t just like a normal potato. They had much more flavour. When they came out of the oven it was like love at first sight! They smelt and tasted delicious.
